We get a lot of people who are worried about having their pillbox hat supplied to them on an elastic band as they are unsure how to put it on so that it stays in place all day.
We have created a handy how-to video for you to follow:
Put hat around over your head so that the elastic is at the back of your head and the hat in front of you
Pull any hair out of the elastic band so that the elastic sits completely underneath your hair at the back
Move the hat upwards to place on your head in the desired position
If needed, secure the elastic in place with grips.

Our dish hats always prove to be a popular choice. The benefit of our dish hats are that they look like a ‘hat’ but actually are made on a hairband so they are easy to wear and ordering the correct size is no issue.. There are a number of styles and sizes available in our S/S 2019 range.
For a lady like, glamorous look choose the Warwick dish hat. This comprises a large sinamay base adorned with a large diamond patterned bow.
One of our favourites is the Bamburgh Dish hat for 2019. This hat is stunning and the feather detail to both the underside and top of the dish provides the right level of drama and detail.
For absolute impact and drama you can choose the Buckingham Dish Hat. This showstopper comprises a large double layered sinamay base adorned with a beautiful array of cut coque feathers between the two layers.
Our Spring Summer 2019 range includes some beautiful pillbox / cocktail style hats which will lend your outfit a really chic finishing touch. We absolutely love the acid brights used in many of the model images this season, however, remember you can have your hat in any colour combination you desire, at no extra charge.

Pantone has just released their colour of the year and it is a vibrant shade called Living Coral. It is described as a happy shade and will not only be seen all over the catwalks but will also translate into interior design. Tiffany Pratt says ‘It makes you think of vibrancy, of coming back to life. When you think of coral you think of it living under the water’.
Here at Hostie Hats the shade is called Bazooka Joe, it s a versatile shade that can work really well with other colours and lift a plain outfit. The shade goes particularly well with Navy, Black, Ivory and Nudes.

The Moet Hat is a great Mother of the Bride or Groom hat. The base and the crinoline bows can be in different colours so you can pick out an accent colour for your outfit.
The Collins Dish hat is a beautiful Mother of the Bride hat with lots of flexibility to pick out the colours in your outfit . It has a very romantic style and although it looks like a hat is actually made on a double hair band which is comfortable to wear and reduces the ‘hat hair’ effect of a traditional brimmed hat.

The Tequila Dish hat is made on a smaller dish if you are looking for a smaller hat that still has a brim. The crinoline bows make this smaller dish hat feel more substantial.

The feather detailing allows you to choose up to 3 colours to pick out accent colours in your outfit. A Note on Wedding Hat Etiquette
We know you will love your hat and want to wear it all day however not everyone will be as comfortable! Etiquette dictates that your Guests will take the Mother of the Bride’s lead on when to remove their hat, usually just prior to the wedding breakfast. If the venue permits it, try to find a way for guests to secure their hats whilst the festivities continue. A great way to do this is providing a ‘washing line and pegs solution’ usually against a wall where hats can be pegged up and kept safe.
